Screen International – the only independent trade magazine and website for the global film industry – is looking to recruit a South Korea Correspondent to join our busy editorial team, generating insightful coverage from the country. This will include covering major news stories out of South Korea each week for our website www.screendaily.com combined with agenda-setting features for our print magazine Screen International. The correspondent will also occasionally be required to cover stories from other parts of Asia.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic journalist with strong knowledge of the South Korean screen industries, a bulging contacts book and a clear understanding of B2B publishing. While most of the Screen editorial team are based in London, the successful candidate will live in South Korea.
They will work closely with our existing international correspondents in Asia, coordinating coverage from their respective markets, while looking to grow that network over time. They will also contribute to the editorial side of Screen’s existing partnerships with events including Hong Kong Filmart and the Busan and Tokyo film festivals. The role will require some international travel.
The role is a freelance position with a monthly retainer for news coverage and additional payment for features and other work.
